Ghana national football team players take part in a training session in Bata
BATA, Equatorial Guinea (AFP) - The heat will be on Ghana and off Zambia when they clash in this steamy port city on Wednesday with a place in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations final at stake.
"Playing in the final is the least everyone expects from us," admitted Serb coach Goran Stevanovic ahead of the semi-final showdown at the 35,000-seat Estadio de Bata.
"We relish being among the favourites and there is additional pressure on the team because I have told them many times that Ghana must win the Cup of Nations for the first time in 30 years."
Severely depleted Ghana finished runners-up to Egypt in the 2010 final and later that year became only the third African country to reach the World Cup quarter-finals before losing on penalties to Uruguay.

By reaching the penultimate stage of the biennial African football showcase for the first time since 1996, Zambia have met the pre-tournament target of French coach Herve Renard.
"There is no more pressure on us," said Renard, "and now we can dream of going all the way to the final. Ghana are favourites, but we will be prepared for them."
Playing in the February 12 decider would have special significance for the Copper Bullets as it will be hosted by Gabon, off whose coast a plane carrying the 1993 Zambian squad crashed with no survivors among the 30 on board.
"Imagine if we could lift the trophy in Libreville -- it would be a fantastic way to honour the memories of those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the land they loved," added Renard.
Although Ghana have won two of three previous Cup of Nations matches between the countries, Zambia are likely to be the fresher outfit come the late afternoon kick-off in the most populous Equatoguinean city.

While Zambia cruised to a 3-0 quarter-final win over Sudan in Bata last Saturday, Ghana were taken to extra time a day later before overcoming 10-man Tunisia 2-1 in south-eastern Gabonese city Franceville.
Renard also has a more settled line-up with 10 starting in all four matches against Senegal, Libya, Equatorial Guinea and Sudan while full-backs Francis Kasonde and Davies Nkausu have made two appearances each.
Goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey, defender John Boye, midfielders Andre Ayew, Anthony Annan and Emmanuel Agyemang Badu and striker Asamoah Gyan are the six Black Stars who started against Botswana, Mali, Guinea and Tunisia.
Captain John Mensah scored the winner against Botswana but was also red carded, ruling him out of the impressive win over Mali, and injury sidelined him for the Guinea game before he returned and scored against Tunisia.
Should Mensah be selected, his battle with rival captain Christopher Katongo is set to be a key clash in the struggle for victory and a final date against Didier Drogba-skippered Ivory Coast or Seydou Keita-inspired Mali.

While Ghana boast footballers with Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga and French Ligue 1 clubs, Switzerland-based striker Emmanuel Mayuka is the only Zambian playing top-flight football in Europe.
But big names do not scare the Copper Bullets as they launched their campaign with a shock victory over a Senegalese squad that included Demba Ba and Papiss Demba Cisse of Newcastle United and Moussa Sow then of French champions Lille and now of Fenerbahce.
"We have no big names and our star is the team," says Renard while Stevanovic counters that "we have a chance to win trophies because my players are fantastic professionals."

Madonna performs during the Super Bowl XLVI half-time show
NEW YORK (AFP) - Madonna's big year got even bigger Tuesday with the announcement of her most ambitious world tour ever, hot on the heels of her record-setting Super Bowl halftime show.
The Material Girl will hopscotch around the globe in support of her 12th studio album "MDNA" which comes out March 26, even as her second feature film, the romantic drama "W.E.", struggles to impress critics and draw audiences.
In a statement, concert promoter Live Nation Entertainment said the as-yet unnamed tour -- Madonna's first since her wildly successful "Sticky and Sweet" outing in 2008 and 2009 -- would kick off March 29 in Tel Aviv.
She will go on to perform in Abu Dhabi and Istanbul, before starting a 22-city swing through Europe in Zagreb on June 11 that will include Paris, London, Berlin, Amsterdam, Moscow and Milan.
Madonna will be in Oslo on August 15, the day before her 54th birthday.
The 26-city North American leg begins August 28 in Philadelphia, and includes open-air gigs in Quebec City's Plains of Abraham park on September 1 and New York's Yankee Stadium on September 6.
"The tour will also visit South America and Australia," Live Nation said, with dates to be announced. There was no mention of any gigs in Asia.
"It will be big and can get bigger," Live Nation's chief executive Arthur Fogel told music news website Billboard.com, adding that production for the tour was in the conceptual stages.
Curiously, Madonna's hometown Detroit was missing from Tuesday's list, although Live Nation teased that "additional cities and venues" are in the pipeline.
Fogel told Billboard.com that the tour -- to wrap up in Australia early next year -- would be Madonna's biggest yet with close to 90 concerts, compared with 85 for "Sticky and Sweet."
With her 2008 divorce from British film-maker Guy Ritchie a distant memory, Madonna marked a return to top form Sunday in a 12-minute, four-song performance midway through the Super Bowl in Indianapolis, Indiana.
It was the most-watched halftime show in Super Bowl history, watched by 114 million viewers in the United States alone -- more than the record 111.3 million who tuned in for the National Football League championship itself.
Joining Madonna in an athletic performance of her just-released single "Give Me All Your Luvin" was British rapper M.I.A., whose split-second flip of the middle finger to the cameras set tongues wagging.
Some wondered if the superstar resented being upstaged by a relative upstart. Others thought M.I.A. was only keeping true to Madonna's own career-defining talent for stirring controversy and breaking with convention.
Washington Post television critic Hank Steuver marveled how Madonna had "outdone herself, executing a flashy halftime tribute to her own image ... but also honoring the concept of longevity and old-fashioned pop stardom."
Critics have been less impressed by "W.E.", a romantic tale that builds on the love affair between Britain's king Edward VIII and US divorcee Wallace Simpson, which Madonna wrote, directed and co-produced.
It premiered at the Venice film festival in December, then went on to earn Madonna a surprise best-song Golden Globe for "Masterpiece."
The Hollywood Reporter said the film, starring Abbie Cornish and James Fox, felt "artificial, programmed (and) rote." The New York Times said it "has its pull, but it never coheres, shredded by its editing and its pretensions."
Madonna's directorial debut was "Filth and Wisdom," a 2008 comedy about three London roommates.

KARACHI (AFP) - Pakistan on Tuesday included all rounders Shahid Afridi and Hammad Azam in its one-day and Twenty20 squads for the rest of this month's series against England in the United Arab Emirates.
Opener Taufiq Umar will return home after the three-Test series which Pakistan won 3-0.
The first of four one-day matches will be played in Abu Dhabi on February 13. The one-days will be followed by three Twenty20 internationals.
Misbah-ul Haq will lead Pakistan in both the formats.
All rounder Abdul Razzaq, part of the team in the one-day series against Sri Lanka in the UAE last year, has been dropped for poor performance.
He missed the Bangladesh series in December due to a shoulder injury but failed to get a nod post-recovery. He has so far played 265 one-days and 46 Tests for Pakistan.
Fellow all rounder Azam gets another chance and hard-hitting batsman Awais Zia will make his international debut in the T20 team after doing well in the newest form of the game in domestic competitions.
Azam, 20, has played five one-day games but last appeared against Ireland in June 2011.
Paceman Wahab Riaz, part of the Test squad but who did not play in any of the matches, retains his place in both the one-day and T20 squads, while Test specialist Azhar Ali will be part of the one-day squad only.
Discarded former captain Shoaib Malik was also included in both squads.
"On the request of Misbah, the selection committee has agreed to send Malik to join the one-day and T20 squads," Pakistan Cricket Board said.
Malik's inclusion comes as a surprise after he flopped in his last five one-day innings, scoring a mere 33 runs. He managed just 22 in three Twenty20 innings.
One-day squad: Misbah-ul-Haq (captain), Younis Khan, Shahid Afridi, Mohammad Hafeez, Imran Farhat, Umar Akmal, Asad Shafiq, Adnan Akmal, Umar Gul, Junaid Khan, Aizaz Cheema, Saeed Ajmal, Abdul Rehman, Wahab Riaz, Azhar Ali, Hammad Azam, Shoaib Malik.
Twenty20 squad: Misbah-ul-Haq (captain), Shahid Afridi, Mohammad Hafeez, Imran Farhat, Umar Akmal, Asad Shafiq, Adnan Akmal, Awais Zia, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Abdul Rehman, Wahab Riaz, Aizaz Cheema, Junaid Khan, Hammad Azam, Shoaib Malik.

LONDON (AFP) - Works by British sculptor Henry Moore and Spanish painter Joan Miro sold for record prices at a Christie's sale that also saw a Van Gogh owned by Elizabeth Taylor fetch over £10 million.
The Moore sculpture, an abstract bronze cast of a reclining woman called "Reclining Figure: Festival", sold for £19 million ($30 million, 23 million euros) -- more than three times the £5.5 million estimate.
Christie's said the work, which was commissioned for the Festival of Britain in 1951, was "one of the most outstanding examples of the reclining figure in the whole of (Moore's) prodigious oeuvre".
The highest price previously set for a Moore work was just £4.3 million, for a 1957 bronze cast called "Draped Reclining Woman", sold in London four years ago, a Christie's spokeswoman said.
The record-breaking Miro sale, a 1925 canvas named "Painting Poem (le corps de ma brune)" went under the hammer for £16.8 million -- again soaring over the pre-sale estimate of up to £9 million.
"'Le corps de ma brune' is the finest work from a groundbreaking series of paintings," said Olivier Camu, Deputy Chairman in Impressionist Art Department at Christie's.
"Widely considered the most important of all of Miro's work, the 'Poem Paintings' instigated a whole new way of working that Miro would follow for the rest of his life and was to significantly influence Pablo Picasso."

The painting, described by Christie's as "part lyrical free-form painting and part hand-written stream-of-conscious poetry", was sold from a private New York art collection.
The previous record auction price for a work by Miro, who died in 1983, was for "La caresse des etoiles", which sold in New York in 2008 for $17 million.
The London auction house also saw three paintings owned by the late Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor, including one by Vincent Van Gogh, sell for a total of £13.9 million ($22 million, 17 million euros).
Van Gogh's "Vue de l'asile et de la Chapelle de Saint-Remy" ("View of the Asylum and Chapel of Saint-Remy"), which had been bought for Taylor by her art dealer father in 1963, went for £10.1 million.
A self-portrait of French Impressionist Edgar Degas and a landscape by Claude Pissarro, also owned by the star, sold for £713,250 and £2,953,250 respectively.
"The exceptional results for these three masterpieces by Van Gogh, Degas and Pissarro are further evidence of Elizabeth Taylor's skill and sophistication as a collector," said Marc Porter, chairman of Christie's Americas.
The British-American star had amassed an extraordinary collection of jewellery and couture as well as art by the time she died last March aged 79.
A week-long auction of her belongings in New York in December drew total sales of $156.8 million (£99 million, 118 million euros). The last of Tayor's art collection goes on sale at Christie's in London on Wednesday and Thursday.
A work by the Spanish Cubist painter Juan Gris, "Le livre" ("The Book"), also sold on Tuesday for £10.3 million.
Described by the auction house as "a key transitional work", it had been expected to sell for up to £18 million.

A US presidential historian has pleaded guilty to conspiracy and theft of dozens of historical documents
WASHINGTON (AFP) - US presidential historian Barry Landau, known for his huge collection of memorabilia, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and the theft of dozens of historical documents, US officials said.
Barry Landau, 63, admitted he and an assistant, 24-year-old Jason Savedoff, swiped items from museums in Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York and Connecticut, and sold selected documents for profit, according to a Department of Justice statement.
The pair face up to five years in prison for the conspiracy and 10 years for the theft. Savedoff previously pleaded guilty to the same charges.
In Landau's New York apartment, authorities uncovered over 4,000 items traced as being stolen from libraries and museums throughout the United States -- include documents signed by George Washington, Franklin Roosevelt, Marie Antoinette, Napoleon Bonaparte, Karl Marx, and Sir Isaac Newton, and others.
The pair were originally indicted last year with the theft of dozens of historical documents, in a spree from December 2010 through July last year.
Landau admitted he researched items to steal and the pair had methodically targeted the repositories and libraries "posing as researchers" for access, said the Justice Department in a statement.
Among the documents Landau and Savedoff stole was a letter dated April 1, 1780, from Benjamin Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, to American Revolutionary War naval fighter John Paul Jones, which they stole from the New York Historical Society.
The pair also snatched some 60 documents from the H. Furlong Baldwin Library at the Maryland Historical Society in July, taking some 60 documents, including a land grant dated June 1, 1861, to a soldier from the Maryland Militia who fought in the War of 1812, and signed by president Abraham Lincoln.
That document was valued in excess of $100,000, officials said.
Landau, who claimed to be "America's Presidential Historian," has made regular TV appearances discussing presidential issues. His website claims "personal relationships" with presidents and their families, and shows him photographed with five US presidents.
His collection of presidential memorabilia contained over a million items, including 26,000 presidential menus and invitations, according to the website.
Landau's sentencing was scheduled for May 7, but no date has been set yet for Savedoff's sentencing.
