An exhibition of 15 pictures by AFP photographers of Egypt's January 25 revolution goes on display as part of the 4th Panorama of European film in Cairo from November 23 - 29.
These large-format photographs on display in the Galaxy Manyal, Cairo's largest theatre, sketch the intensity of the uprising which drew worldwide attention and made Tahrir Square the symbol of the Arab Spring.
The festival, organised by Egyptian producer-director Marianne Khoury, niece of filmmaker Youssef Chahine, is dedicated in part to revolutions that took place around the world this year. The Panorama of European Film offers an opportunity to explore the fundamental changes currently taking place in Egypt as well as sample the diversity and richness of European cinema and a chance to hear from the filmmakers present.
